Imagine, if you will, your younger self. I'm not talking about the days of your first yoga class when you couldn't touch your toes or remember your left from your right. No, I'm talking about the days when you believed you could fly, had passionate arguments about which superhero was the best, and where a cardboard box was the gateway to another universe.
You know, back when we were young, wild, and free.
So, what does it mean to live young, wild, and free?
1. Dive into the Unknown: As kids, we were explorers, venturing into the unknown with a sandwich in one hand and a sense of adventure in the other. Embrace this in life. Try a new yoga pose. Start that project. Dance in the rain. You might find that the unknown isn't so scary after all.
2. Laugh Often: Do you remember the last time you laughed so hard, your belly hurt? Life can be serious, but it can also be silly. Find humor in the everyday. Maybe even in your Downward Dog if your perspective’s just right.
3. Stay Curious: Never lose your sense of wonder. Ask questions, even if they sound silly. Why is the sky blue? How do birds know where to migrate? What does namaste really mean? A curious mind is a youthful mind. bowing to you". In Hinduism, it also has a spiritual import reflecting the belief that "the divine and self (atman, Self) is same in you and me", and connotes "I bow to the divine in you".
4. Let Go: Kids don’t hold grudges. They might cry one moment and laugh the next. Embrace this art of letting go. Release that tension in your shoulders. Let go of that pose you can't quite get right. Breathe out negativity, breathe in positivity.
5. Embrace Play: Remember playing tag, hide and seek, or just rolling down a hill? Embrace play in your life. Turn your yoga mat into a playground. Experiment. Be playful in your poses, in your breath, in your life.
6. Believe: Believe in magic. Believe in miracles. Believe in yourself. After all, as children, we believed we could be anything – astronauts, mermaids, even dragons! Channel that belief into your daily life and into every pose.
So next time you step onto your mat, or step out into the world, channel that young, wild, and free spirit. Be the child that dances without a care, sings off-key with gusto, and imagines without boundaries.
Let's close our eyes, take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, release all your adult worries. For this moment, just be. Young, wild, and free.
Namaste, my fellow adventurers. 🌟
